hmmm very tough one this, funk was awesome, and a pioneer, but RVD was all this and a much more technically accomplished performer, when I think of the original ECW I think of RVD not funk so...

Eddie Guerrero, no contest. Feel bad for Finlay, mind.

Much as I respect Funk and everything he's done in wrestling, RVD is one of a kind.

Tough draw for Finlay, but Eddie ended up having a great run as champion. Funk destroys Van Dam. Great technical wrestler and NWA champion in the 70s, a brilliant and crazy heel in the early 80s (especially in Memphis and Puerto Rico) and an awesome feud with Ric Flair in 1989 that everybody should watch.

Search for Terry Funk on youtube or something. He was way better in the 70s and 80s than his ECW/FMW stuff in the 90s. Great promo too. Look for his interviews.

Right, voting closed on that round I think. Steamboat overcomes one Guerrero, while the other picks up the first whitewash of the competition against a very unlucky Finlay. Van Dam overcomes one of his mentors, while HBK overcomes The Hardcore Icon to proceed to the next round.
