Battle of the Test Matches

I've got that series on DVD, the way Laxman just smashed Warne and McGrath all over the place is magnificent and infuriating.

In Calcutta 99, Pak showed great fight after being 26/6 within first hour and half but came back to stay on top for the most part of rest of the game but VVS's Finest Hours of his career make it in this battle.....

So it is Calcutta 01

Yeah Kolkata 99 was a great test with some great performances from both sides but unfortunately people remember it for Crowd's poor performance rather than players suprb performance and also 2001 Kolkata test is one of the best tests one has watch in recent times.

Calcutta 1999 game was very interesting and bravely fought from both side...going in the Pak's biggest fear was not Sachin but Mighty Azhar who always manages to do wonder there...and i am sure indians didnt fear Shaoib and instead they were worried about Saqlain....for once in that series Saeed looked like himself and i will never forget the last couple of boundries that he hit off Srinath in his 188* inning....specially the one where he just cressed the ball through point and Gully for 4's.

It was the game in which i realize how much a hype ganguly is as on final day india needed 60 runs and 4 wickets were in hand and Saurav just gave up to pressure exerted by Pakistanis...he just didnt look like as if he was not able to take the pressure and expectations of final day and the expression on his face and whole body language when he walked out of dressing room and took his guard was extremely a person who has been very intimidated by the situation.......he sure did have a night full of worries.........sure these situations bring the best out of great players and Saurav just was not the person who could take that (or any) pressure situation.

The '99 one was a true classic, the emergence of Akhtar, but how does one go past VVS, one of my favorite Indian cricketers ever.

Jumping on the 2001 bandwagon - what a performance from VVS, and let's not forget Dravid and Harbajan's roles either. There was no way we could lose that Test. But we did.

The CT was a great topsy turvy match, but it has to be Edgbaston. How many thought that England had "choked" again..and then....

Australia vs England, Melbourne, Centenary Test, 1976-77

Love the fact that the result was the same margin as the first game 100 years previous.
