Real toughie this, and I don't have the normal default of voting against the Aussie.

Both these captains can be said to be the one's responsible for making the West Indies & Pakistan real forces in international cricket. Really its not much seperating them, but i'll give it to Imran because of the interview i saw of him on skysports during the summer where he said he discovered the likes of Inzi & Waqar from nowhere picked them while predicting they would be greats while the selectors thought he was crazy.

Watching them perform on TV in the Premier domestic competion could not be classified as picking from nowhere.

yea, well he had said in the case of Inzi that the selectors felt he wouldn't go anywhere in cricket & when Waqar was picked it caused a selector to resign.

He may may have faced problems from selectors due to some politics, but come on even if a casual cricket watcher like us sees an 18 yr old bowling at 95+miles even we would recognise that he is a special talent.

Inzamam was the best batsman on the domestic circuit at the time of his selection. He had been scoring heavily for several seasons. By no means was he discovered 'from no where.'
