8-0 in favor of Tendulkar by my count. I say let's move on the next battle.
You're not going to like this one.

56 five wicket hauls, 18 ten wicket hauls not to mentaion 657 wickets do it for me.

very close but Murali it is.

Ridiculous matchup.

Let's see ... Murali is a top-5 bowler vs Imran is a top-10 bowler + second greatest all-rounder ever + great captain

So tough to go past Murali, but I'll have to go with Imran.

Hmmm true that, but Murali has long been and carried the burden of being the only Tamil in a team full of Singhalese in a country riven by ethnic strife.
Whats more he has done it with charisma and grace.

Also, for the most part he has carried all the chucking etc on his shoulders without breaking, where a lot of other men would have caved or lost control.

He has also more or less carried Sri Lanka for the last 10 years in terms of his bowling.

(And much as I like and admire Imran, I liked and admired him more before his speech at the conclusion of the 91 WC)

The Great MM for me

murali is probably the greatest spinner of all time. he will be among the top 5 any which way you look at it. imran wont be either as a batter or as a bowler or as a captain (this is my opinion). but the overall package of imran is more valuable to a winning team than most cricketers, including murali. i have to give it to the great khan.

Really hard to split the two. Murali is the better bowler but I'll go with Imran for his all-round ability.

I really hope Murali, gets past this round, he should win it IMO. But i get a feeling that this will turn into the Battle of Pakistan/India very soon.

Wow. Talk about an epic matchup. Imran for me. While Murali may be the greatest bowler the subcontinent has ever produced, IMO Imran is its greatest cricketer. Aside from being a top 10 bowler himself (again IMO), Imran is also one of the greatest allrounders and captains to play the game. I know this opinion probably will be slammed, but Imran's overall package not just takes out Murali, but anyone else from the subcontinent.

I don't particularly like either of them but I will vote for Imran Khan, purely on the basis that I want Muralitharan to be kicked out of the competition.

Murali for me. Much as Imran is one of the greats, and a matchwinner too, Murali's sheer magic edges it.

This match-up would have made a fitting semi-final :(
