Battle of the Subcontinent

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
SS you're rushing through this too fast for a few battles, in particular Arjuna vs. Qadir which could have gone on longer and been closer. What's the point of choosing 64 or however many players if you're going to end it after 5 votes. I understand for the easy ones, but not now.

Pataudi for me here.

Agreed with Jono. Except a lead of 5 in round 1, I would keep a battle on for at least 24 hours.. Maybe a lead of 10 in round 2 considering there could be more voters.

OK, lead of five in round 1, lead of ten in round 2, or 24 hours, whichever comes first.

That's good. I was going to mention as well how the battles were finishing too fast. This method sounds like a fair plan.

I don't think so. If Imran Khan goes up against Agarkar, and 5 people that are online at that time vote for AA for whatever reason, would it be fair to end that battle early? Why not make it so the battle runs a minimum of 12 hours, and if its close, run it the full 24.

Would that really happen though?

Anway it's clear that Agarker is better than Khan

I do, but if you think about it, it is very unlikely to happen. I guess that they would make an exception if there were 5 votes for Rikki Clarke and none for Bradman, it's just to stop ones going on longer than is neccasery.

I certainly agree. I would like this to go for at least 12 hours and 24 in case of close ones.

Don't worry. Its not an automatic close. If I feel that the votes don't seem right, I'll certainly keep it open. i.e, I won't close it if Khan Mohammad has a five vote lead vs. Imran Khan, but I would if its the other way around.

So your going to assert undue influence over the course of the battle based on your subjective judgements. Seems really fair to me.

SS - I wasn't talking about the one sided battles, but IMO Qadir Vs. Ranatunga was closed too early.

Yes, thats exactly what I am going to do. If you feel that I close something too early, let me know, but now that people have established guidelines, I doubt this will happen.

You've got to use your common sense as well. If Rikki Clarke is 5 - 0 against Bradman in the battle of the Batsmen, then I hope SS will use his noggin and say that we won't close it yet.
