Lara's came on an atrocious wicket vs an atg attack in Australia.
Yup. On points it was a greater knocks but I remember watching it thinking that Aus somehow had let the pedal off the gas that innings. That was an issue especially with Taylors team with dead rubber tests. They lost their edge.

Sachins knock had a ton of more expectations at the moment when he was batting.

Still doesn't matter Lara's came vs a much better attack, away, and on a horrible wicket for batting. Who the hell is Gavin Robertson??

Got to disagree with a couple here.

Dravid faced a far inferior attack.

Butcher and Lara were dead rubber tests. Not sure but I think it impacts the quality a bit.
Lara's innings had the McWarne in Australia factor.
Dravid faced an inferior attack but coming in at no3 as opposed to 174-4 reduces the gap and he was under more scoreboard pressure.
That Australian side were still ruthless after the series was won.
