Cheers Zebra, some real choice selections we add the best (I.e. the worst) of them to the remaining slots.

First battle will commence probably tomorrow if not Monday night.

If there is anymore that come to mind, just post them down and remember the guidelines, five test or ten ODI’s.

ok so here are my suggestions, i havent considered b'desh and zimbabwe players(as well as SL players before they were actually any good):

Anthony Mcgrath
Chris Silverwood
Tim Bresnan
Liam Plunkett
Alistair Brown
Nathan Hauritz
Brendan Julian(turned out just as bad as every other Australian 'all rounder')
Sujith Somasundar
Harvinder Singh
Rob Peterson
Justin Ontong
Peter Strydom
Wavell Hinds
Adam Sanford
Ricardo Powell
Clayton Lambert(Yea he scored a century against us but we were ****e as well back then)
Eric Upashanta

On a side note while i was compiling this list, i thought for a second about Laurie Williams, the WI all rounder and was surprised to see that he actually died in 2002! Certainly dont remember reading that in the news.

Edit: ok i just saw the guidelines, so we can get rid of Bresnan, Hauritz and somasundar

I consider that for a "worst cricketer" list, they should have actually been given every opportunity to succeed and didn't (i.e. playing 5-6 tests & failing doen't make you a worst cricketer IMO). Anyway, heres my list for the six worst specialist test batsmen:

1. Ken Rutherford (NZ): 56 tests, 2465 runs @ 27.09
2. Alistair Cambell (Zim): 60 tests, 2858 runs @ 27.22
3. Mark Ramprakash (Eng): 52 tests, 2350 @ 27.33
4. Roshan Mahanama (SL): 52 tests, 2576 @ 29.27
5. Grant Flower (Zim): 67 tests, 3457 @ 29.55
6. Kris Srikkanth (Ind): 72 tests, 2062 runs @ 29.88

Haven't looked at the bowlers, but I'm sure Ashley Giles should be there

i think if you really were one of the worst cricketers, you wouldnt get more than a handful of tests or ODIs. Certainly players that were made captains of their sides(on your list) cant be considered too bad.

Except they were all specialist batsmen averaging less than you'd expect from a good keeper or allrounder.

Edit: Their batting averages compare to Hadlee, and he was a "bowling" allrounder :)

Couple that haven't been mentioned yet - Gerhardus Liebenberg the South African opener who toured England in 1998. aka "the walking wicket" . So crap Bangaldesh's Javed Omar looked far better than him last year! And good old Chris Cowdrey - who had the sirname of a Test cricketer but not the talent.

Yes but averages arent the be all and end all, especialy overall overages.Rutherford for example had a shocking start to his career, between 92-95 his averages are actually quite respectable. Its the same thing with the rest of your players to be honest. they were not brilliant by any means, but all of them had phases when they deserved to be in the side, certainly cant be the worst ever in my book.

Id also like to nominate Xavier Marshall from the WI. I had an extremely hard time wondering how anyone as disgraceful as he was could ever come close to making the side. Batted like he had never faced a left arm bowler before in SL. i believe his test average from 2 tests is 4.25 while his ODI average from 10 innings is 9.80 and the worst part is those averages make him look better than he actually played.
