Battle of the AFL Stars

OK, we need to get rid of three.

Neitz, Lynch, McKay or Burke for mine. Ratten, although perenially underrated, is another at risk if we find some players who have been overlooked and need to be there.

International Captain
Cull Ratten, Everitt and McKay/Lynch for mine.

Actually: I vote for the removal of

Everitt
Ratten
Lynch

RTDAS
Andrew McKay - held up the Carlton defence single handedly for 2 years or so after SOS left as well as whenever he went up forward in the later years. However, probably can't match it with the stars here.
Peter Everitt - Not good enough for this level.
Alastair Lynch - Pretty sure any tall bloke who was continuously fed the ball from the Lions gun midfield would have done the same, if not more than him. Up for debate though.

Ratten > McKay.

Whom else rivals Everitt as a ruckman? Primus, maybe, but too many injuries? Rehn might've been a chance, but ... dunno.

McKay, Burke & Lynch take my votes for those to be Culled.

I'd keep everitt in there for the reason jack mentioned. Who else is there? and he's not exactly crap.

Cut Everitt, McKay and Ratten. Dunno if SOS did all that much post '96 either. A very strange selection in the '99 All Australian team, but was not the force he was in the early to mid nineties. Same with Bradley. Chris Grant should be in, no doubt about it.

Peter Bell, Brent Harvey, Shannon Grant, Shaun Rehn, Barry Hall, Darren Jarman, Simon Goodwin, Corry McKernan and Daniel Kerr all have performed at a higher level then a lot of the players included, plus they have achieved a fair bit during the time period. If it's going to be done on football ability more so than achievements, you can't leave out these players, especially when they have also achieved so much. There's probably more too.
