And I would like to express my dismay at being forced to choose between Farokh Engineer and Clive Lloyd, perhaps the two greatest Lancastrians who ever lived - 'tis cruel and heartless, but I won't desert Engineer - sincere apologies to Supercat

Wasim Akram (because of the *** appeal in his bowling) Shane Bond (read Wasim's comment), Muttiah Muralitharan (I like unorthodox Sri Lankan cricketers in general, and he's the best of them), Clive Lloyd (for his batting), Anil Kumble (I miss him on 4th and 5th days of any test match in India)

Cricketer Of The Year
David Gower - 12 vs Michael Hussey - 18
People have let themselves down badly in casting their votes. FFS. Seriously, how can you prefer Mike OCD Hussey to David Gower? It's reminiscent of that "Crowded House aren't steaming piles of MOTR ****" fiasco in OT.

Precisely what I feel about Dhoni getting lowest vote out of 4 in the first battle.

I voted Gower, ftr. Such amazing grace, it's mesmerizing.

I have this memory of Bruce Reid bowling to Gower and DG going on the back foot and hitting three fours in 4 balls through the covers. It was a back foot cover drive but I didn't understand how he got over the ball as it looked about waist high when he hit it.

If we had a most graceful player battle surely he must be right up there.
