Very conflicted as he was a great captain for us, but equally has turned into something of a head of the old dick since retirement, however his coverdrive just leaves him with enough credit in the bank: Mick Vaughan and Jayawardene.

Dimi & Sammy in the second. Neither in the first or even second rank of talents, but like how they go about their cricket. Sammy handling an impossible commission with a lot of pluck and dignity.

Lara & Goochie in the third.

Think you got it mixed up with the actual voting. The three nominations are for creating the pool of players from which CW's favourite cricketer will be selected. The voting we're doing at the moment is from the 'battles' between four cricketers that Cevno posts daily.

Agree with Brumbers on Michael Vaughan though I have a bit more time for him. As to the other it has to be Alan Border - not for his cricket, but for his grumpiness - always modelled myself on him for that come appraisal time

Second one pretty weak but will go for Lord Snooty, 'cos he was a cracking batter when he was set and he is part of the 2011 amnesty for all ****e Lanky overseas players of the last 40 years. Darren Sammy too - knows he's nowt special but tries his hardest

In the last Goochie and Lara, for the two greatest innings of all time, and plenty of other very special knocks
