Rather Mad Witch
Lara 21-11

Quarterfinal two

Malcolm Marshall (1958-1999)

1,810 runs and 376 wickets in 81 Tests for West Indies; 136 ODIs
Consistenly excellent bowler, the most regularly successful of the West Indies 1980s bowlers
Allied high speed with movement and accuracy - a deadly triad
Batted and bowled with a broken thumb to lead West Indies to victory at Lord's in 1984

Shane Bond (1975-)

87 wickets in 18 Tests for New Zealand; 82 ODIs
Perhaps New Zealand's fastest bowler ever
Injuries and ICL has limited his career to two Tests per year

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
Marshall. Batting with one hand injured was epic. Plus he is probably the greatest fast bowler ever. Left us too early. :(

Bond.

Huge amount of respect for Marshall, but Bond provided me with some of the most exciting times in my cricket-watching life. I loved being at the ground when he was bowling a great spell and the way the huge crowd got behind him - hitting their hands on the seats in front, chanting his name, etc.

Oh and it really shows how spiffing everything on CW is ATM, that even an innocuous thread like this can turn into a train wreck.

Shame I wasn't lobbied I'd of gone for the non-crim obviously, ho-hum....
