Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

Magrat Garlick

Global Moderator
20-9 Border. The last player with South African connections out (Australia have 5/14, so much for anti-Australian bias  )

Third Round, Battle Fifteen

Harold Larwood (1904-1995)

78 wickets in 21 Tests for England
The fastest bowler of his age, was retired at 28 following disagreements over Bodyline
Ravaged by injuries, his record is inconsistent but occasionally brilliant

Chris Cairns (1970-)

3,320 runs and 218 wickets in 62 Tests for New Zealand; 215 ODIs
Attacking all-rounder, New Zealand's third-highest wicket taker as well as a more than useful batsman
A 17-year international career, but injuries kept him from more than four Tests per year

Gotta be Harold. I like Cairns as a player, but Larwood had the good sense to settle in Australia.
