Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Engineer wins 13-5.

Battle nine

Kumar Sangakkara (1977-)

7,549 runs in 88 Tests for Sri Lanka; 267 ODIs
Was Sri Lanka's regular wicket-keeper for five years, giving it up in Tests to become a stellar batsman-captain (averages 74 without the gloves)
Among his 21 Test centuries can be mentioned the match-winning 144 against India at Colombo in 2008 and an ultimately futile 192 against Australia at Hobart - the highest score by a Sri Lankan in Australia

V. V. S. Laxman (1974-)

7,136 runs in 110 Tests for India; 86 ODIs
Australia specialist, with 6 of 15 hundreds against them, including, naturally...
281 against Australia in 2001, turned the match and series around

V. V. S. Laxman - Seems a nicer person and and is a very good batsmen who has done well in the circumstances he ahs had to play in.
More pleasing on the eye too.
