Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

BoyBrumby

Englishman
Cairns.

Always loved watching the big fella bat. Huge blokes with a good eye make it look a very simple game sometimes.

Jungle Jumbo

International Vice-Captain
Cairns, first real memories of watching Test cricket are him and Nash making a mess of England on the opening day of the Second Test in '99. That slower ball to get rid of Read.

Tough choice between Cairns and McCabe, but I'll go for Cairns. At his best, he made NZ games exhilarating viewing.

Geez, two of my faves in here. I love Chris Cairns, and will hopefully get the chance to vote for him later, but it has to be Mo Matthews. Got to spend some time being coached by him, and as well as being crazy, he's a genius spin bowling coach. Mad as a hatter.

FTR, after one night we all went down to the pub, and Mo rocked up in his NSW jumper and training kit to drink, at a reasonably busy joint. He got told he wasn't allowed in with thongs, so he returned back five minutes later with his cricket spikes on and walked straight in and started having a "pigs ear", and remained there all night spouting all the wisdom that a young cricketer needs to know.
