I would prefer the guy who proved himself in Test cricket as an extraordinary opener and retiring as the world record holder with 8114 runs at an average of 47.73 and 22 centuries against the likes of Lillee, Thomson, Hall, Roberts, Holding, Garner, Hadlee, Kapil etc

Boycott and it isn’t close.

Before even taking into account Boycott having an entire test career… he has a longer FC career by 9 years. And unlike Barry remained a top notch batsman in domestic cricket until the end of his career. With a better average, and scoring tons more often.

Plus you know, then he had a whole test career on top of that.

Hutton played like 10 games before the war, he came back after the war with an injury that effected his game and he still set the world on fire, if anything Hutton is post WWII as that's where he achieved greatness and brought the urn back to England after 20 years.
