Bairstow is much better, problem is when he makes a blooper he generally just has a dreadful match. He is normally passable. Certainly better than Buttler with gloves but not as good as Prior was. Clearly Foakes should be in the side but they have chosen this route.

From memory, when Bairstow had his extended run in the side as wicketkeeper, he ended up being pretty alright. I guess he just doesn't get a lot of match practice keeping when he's not doing it tests, as I think I'm right in saying he doesn't regularly keep in other formats or domestics, so being out with injury for the winter tours would have put him especially out of practice

You can't be a match fixer while trying to lose every ****ing match. It would be too obvious.
Plus, he was a clutch contributor with the bat, especially in ODIs. Doesn't strike me as a match fixer at all, just horrendously poor at a key aspect of his job.
