The only real issue is England claiming this one dismissal cost them the match when, for example, if a) Harry Brook could have knocked the ball around for 20 or 30 more runs, instead of playing the worst shot in the history of test cricket; and if b) England had halved the amount of extras they conceded, then England would have won comfortably.

It appears to be old school Kevin Sheedy style diversion tactics, and another way of claiming victory when you have in fact lost.

It was a crucial wicket. Had a significant impact on the match. Full credit should go to the wicket keeper who did his job perfectly, worthy of representing his national team in a prestigious tournament on the international stage.

As for the Stacey Jones thing, I have been horrified about that for years. I consider it a black spot on him as a person and I cannot fathom how he allows himself to be involved, unless he truly doesn't know how damaging loan sharks are.

I think he might not have realised, it was sort of when those types of loans were quite new in NZ from memory, and there hadn't been warnings etc about them in the media at that stage.

I remember he was asked about it and wouldn't comment, and then not too long after the ads disappeared.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on that one, anyway.
