Yeah pretty much. Regardless of merit he'll have no moral authority to lead the team or speak on its behalf. Which tbh is perhaps not a great loss.

it is though. a lot has been made of his sookier antics as skipper but prior to this he still commanded enormous respect in his team and the world as a great batsman and a successful australian skipper. that's all gone now and australia now lack senior players who have the respect of both the team and the wider cricketing world to take over.

The way the Australian media (larger media, non sporting), other Australian sporting personalities and general public have responded to this just proves how full of **** Australian cricketers are when they justify their disgraceful and rotten behaviour with 'It's the Aussie way".
