Babar Azam needs to get on with it

The guy is an amazing talent but at 27 years old he has 5 tons and averages 43. Fawad Alam has the same number of tons and a higher average from less games.

I rate both tbh, but for all the talk of Babar being one of the best in the world, he really needs to start delivering. 1 ton in 2 years.

Pakistan are such a nearly team atm with almost everything in place to become top 3 and Babar becoming the ATG he so obviously can be would really help.

Wayyy off topic but are India and Pakistan ever going to play another test series in my lifetime?? Fine, don't play the series in either country. Pick somewhere neutral. On paper India would seem the much superior team but Pakistan does have its pride. ICC needs to make this happen and the BCCI/PCB suck it up...

Mate you really think we wouldn't have a series for like a decade if that was the problem?
I have an idea of what the problems are. It's just very frustrating from a cricket fans pov. Imagine if Australia and England stopped playing each other. The two best Asian teams with with exciting players and rich cricket histories not playing each other is tragic

Tbf, he's averaged ~55 from his 1st ton onwards and his overall average is weighed down by a long-ish poor start to his career, so he's 'got on with it' in that sense. But equally, he's only been so-so since his really hot streak ended and does need to show that it wasn't a flash in the pan

I'm never really sure what to expect in cases like this. He was truly excellent for a period, but loads of players have periods where it looks like they've broken through and then just fall away for ever - even Jonny Bairstow had an excellent year and a bit.

Babar averages a ****ton in Pakistan from the few tests few played. The fact he couldn't play there till recently definitely hasn't helped his average.
