International Captain
The problem here is that you know absolutely nothing about Dhoni's bowling abilities. Do not compare him with Flintoffs case. This is bordering on the ridiculous. Flintoff was a proven bowler before he even made his international debut. Dhoni has no proven bowling credentials, and you might as well promote Laxman as a medium pace option if you're doing so for Dhoni on such flimsy grounds. You're latching onto an instance of him bowling in the nets as if he were a huge revelation. Everybody bowls in the nets every now and then. Even Sachin and Sehwag have bowled medium pace in the nets when the bowlers are unavailable/tired. Why not go with them for your 4-5 overs of medium pace ? Because a keeper bowling is a more romantic idea ? You're just attempting a stab in the dark because it seems a neat idea to have a keeper who can bowl. The only hitch is that he actually needs to be a good bowler for this to even take off. Unless you can come up with proof of any bowling talent on his part, stop speculating. Everyone realises that a keeper who can bowl is useful to have. Only thing is they wisely wait for some proof of such talent to emerge before going to town with it.TIF said:What difference does it make that MS Dhoni has bowled only 18 deliveries in his entire career. Flintoff, knew nothing about bowling when he made his England debut and now he is the no.1 all-rounder in the world.
Also, for years, Indias problem has been a lack of a batsman who can bowl part-time medium-pace. Now, when we are finally getting someone who can bowl part-time medium-pace in MS Dhoni, people are refusing to believe it and have went to the extent of saying that MS Dhoni shouldnt bowl
I just cant understand the Indian fans. For years they look for something and when they finally get it, they just dont beleive it and just dont know how to handle it.
