Its just a ploy to sell more merchandise. Or maybe travelex thought their logo would look more prominent ( IMO gaudy) on a darker background ?

yeah you could be right about the merchandise part, that wouldnt really suprise me. Because its like that in football. Football teams bring out two ew kits every year and they know their guaranteed to sell
