Cartwright is a better bat than Stoinis by so much it isn’t funny.

I still want to know how Bancroft keeps ffs. It’s actually the most important part of the number seven’s job

Now people are picking Stoinis based on what? ODI form?

He's lucky to even be in the WA Shield team.

Bancroft's recent performances have been really impressive. I'm always excited to see young players with application.

Which is exactly why I'd never bat him at 7.

Why would you bat a young guy known for long innings, with a strike-rate of 42, at 7?

Pity Mitch Marsh is not bowling now (Yeah I said it) - would really consider Bancroft to keep at 6 & Marsh at 7.

For me they will want to take load off Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood - it is either Cartwright or Stoinis they going to pick for 6 now.
Exactly my thoughts

I think they'll give him a feel of Test cricket in a more relaxed setting before they ever contemplate shuffling him up the order. But you're right, I would bat him above Hotel/Show even if he's keeping.

No he doesn't. If you want to pick him as a bat then fine but he shouldn't be a test keeper candidate based on 3 games.

Where's that written? He is replacing Wade ffs

Think I've got this

Renshaw
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
Bancroft +
Henriques
Starc
Cummins
Hazlewood
Lyon

Would prefer MMarsh if he was bowling.

M marsh' bowling was really good in aus tests a few years ago. Just as good with the ball as stokes imo, esp in terms of accuracy. His batting was poor though but i put that down to him being under more pressure being at 6, he would probably score a lot more runs if he was a place down the order. In the same way that holder and woakes do well at 8 and 9 for WI and england. All depends on whether bancroft is good enough to keep to haze starc cummins and lyon

If Marsh was bowling I would have been sorely tempted to go him at 7, Maxwell at 6 and Bancroft to open/keep. That fourth seamer could be a real issue for Aus.
