I guess but it also cost us a game, or 2.Perhaps Smith's concussion was inadvertently fortuitous.

I don't know if stephen implied that. But he did say that Joe Burns had scored "gritty hundreds" which is a stretch. How the selectors can cop any heat over Labuschagne's selection/non-selection is beyond me
The implication was actually about Khawaja, who's hundreds in the UAE and Adelaide were special innings.I don't know if stephen implied that. But he did say that Joe Burns had scored "gritty hundreds" which is a stretch.
He’s on the good bloke list. Short, gritty and a sledger so he’s Langers kind of guy. I think Smith is also a fan which may have swayed it if needed.So...where does Wade fit into this?
He was quite good for Queensland but I don't think he's quite good enough with bat or ball yet to deserve selection. How close is Neser to selection? He seems to have had a nice holiday. Can barely remember him from last year.
Can't see Burns doing much away from home. Would rather a younger option be given the chance, even if it has to be a makeshift opener. Burns could definitely do the job for a bit though, while a younger opener comes of age.Is Khawaja going to get back in? No spring chicken and dropped as he is poor away like Warner, can see one playing but not both as next tour you in same position again.
Would think Burns has to play as one of the openers.
Maybe, but AFAIK he's never captained for Queensland before so it would be a big risk (obviously I could be wrong, in which case that would make sense)Labu is going to be the next long-term captain, surely. Already 25. After a year maybe.
