Yeah, it was a nice burn.

Langer really needs to go. His ridiculous favouritism is costing us terribly. It wouldn't be so bad if the results would back him up.

But we've gone backwards since he took over with both bat and ball.

The **** even admitted that he doesn't even do any coaching. In an interview said that literally the only advice he gave to Handscomb was "watch the ball".

Honestly don't even know what they're paying him for or what he is actually doing

Kevin Roberts this afternoon.

"Over the last decade or so there has been some suggestion that perhaps potential may have played more of role in selections than previously and I think that's a good question for us to ask," Kevin Roberts, the Cricket Australia CEO, told SEN Radio on the second day in Sydney. "I'm not saying we have it way out of whack at the moment, but they are important questions to ask ourselves. Are we placing enough emphasis on performance - potential is important but, as they say, potential never won a game.

"A 35-year-old athlete today is probably quite similar to a 25-year-old athlete of say 20 years ago when I was playing and we have to be conscious of that. A lot of cricketers reach their potential in their late 20s, even early 30s. It's really important to identify young talent, the next Ricky Ponting if you like, but for other players who are not the next Ponting, I think it's important we have a system that inspires them to stay in it and inspires them to feel like they have opportunities when they are reaching the peak of their careers."

A 35 year-old cricketer is the equivalent of a 25 year-old cricketer from 1999... what a load of tripe.
Indeed it is, but it's the kind of rubbish thinking that could actually lead to better decisions and policies, ie. selecting based on merit rather than age

Funny that this logic is only ever used to select Darsh and not any other player over 30.
the context of the comment was actually in questioning current selection policies, and suggesting that change would be needed

This translates to "It has been suggested our selection policies are garbage, this is such a very good question. We love questions. Are we ****ing some players right up their assholes or are we promoting hackfrauds? Excellent questions, we'll definitely ask ourselves that because we're so smart. Thanks Twitter."

Heard Kevin Robert's interviewed during the MCG Test - seemed such a corporate-speak bore he made James Sutherland seen almost charismatic in comparison

i still think roberts was brought in principally because he was viewed as a union-buster, not because of any actual deep cricket knowledge

You could probably pick a squad of batsmen overlooked or blackballed that would give our current top 6 a run

Burns Renshaw D Hughes Maxi Wade Doolan shows we haven’t made the best use of available resources . Otoh we have a good beta squad to choose from to support Warner Smith and Khawaja when the first two come back.

The load of **** that this all is.

The fact is, we shouldn't be going into test series needing to make a lot of selections/changes during the series. So saying guys dont have an opportunity to press their claim because of scheduling is stupid.

We should be picking the best six batsmen based on either their successful incumbency in the test XI or the fact that they have been the best performed in the Shield recently/in the last few years in their roles.

Cant act surprised when Finch (FC average of 35 and failed as a FC opener) fails as a test opener. Stupid.

And this ****-storm is all because Cricket Australia overreacted massively with Smith and Warner. Stupid again.

The ****-storm running CA is stupid. Stupid.
