Tom Parker's quit as curator at the SCG. Dunno what it'll mean, probably flatter wickets.

Wish Kevin Mitchell would quit. The Brisbane surface has been conducive to uninteresting batting dominated cricket for a while now.

Reckon the SCG Test wicket has been getting a bit bland in the last few seasons. Was the best Test cricket wicket in Australia for a while.

Agree about the Gabba pitch although do enjoy how much Mitchell annoys the AFL and doesn’t bow down to them like everyone else (including governments) does in this country.

Chris Lynn has joined the BPL,Bangladesh Premier League in November,so looks like he joining the Global T20 domestic roundabout, the first real loss.
Kurt Patterson to miss the A tour due to hammy injury.

Lynn has stated publicly that he isn't really that interested in the longer forms any more, so chasing cash overseas sounds like a decent career move.

Well I guess Lynn wn't replace Patterson in the A suad, wonder who will, remember he only played 2/3 shield games this year.

Seems pretty clear to me that CA are looking to find more money to fritter away on admin purposes. Creative accounting can easily hide any surplus income that might be 'shared among the players'.

Gavin Robertson was saying on radio the other day that when he toured India in the late 90s, the test team had a support crew of 3 whereas the Australian under 19s who played Sri Lanka in Hobart this year had a support crew of 10

The more money you have, the more you spend

Anyway, this has developed into a complete farce that is a very bad look for the game here.

I find it very hard to believe that a deal couldn't be reached in a day or so if both sides genuinely wanted to negotiate and were open to compromise

CA threatening the players with six month bans is going to leave them very red-faced when Warner, Smith, Starc and Cummins all sign for the South African league.

It's a bluff for the big players but it'll keep the marginal players in line.

The Oz A tour to SA and the Bangladesh tour might prove to be collateral damage but I find it hard to believe that either party will risk the ODI series in India or the Ashes

I can only imagine how pissed off ***** will be if the Bangladesh tour gets cancelled because of this.
