Stars had two specialist spinners every time that Maxwell played.
There's no way that the difference between Head and Maxwell's bowling is so much that Maxy doesn't bowl an over.

Yeah I actually do rate Head's bowling higher, but the fact that they're a bit different should definitely mean Maxwell gets a few overs when the batsmen have lined Head up. I definitely get the feeling Smith is trying to non-bowl Maxwell out of contention for one eleven or another.

I guess he is sending a message to the selectors,after Hohns came out and criticized him.

Faulkner's really dropped off since the WC. It's a shame, as I always thought he had a good temperament for top level cricket.

I think White is unlucky not to get a sniff in the ODI side in the last couple of seasons considering his form. Having said that, I was surprised how much of a good run he had at it back in the day when I saw that he’d played 88 ODIs, around double what I expected. He generally was pretty good but he fell away badly in the 2010/11 season, culminating in a dire 2011 WC.

I think he should be in the running for the Champions Trophy squad but can’t see it happening, especially with the youth mindset of Chappell on the panel.

Yeah it strikes me as very ordinary given the players who are out atm. Likewise Bailey. I mean I'm a fan of his and all, but while he's not going to be an atg or anything, with the blokes who are out he surely should have been given another go. His record is very good.

Bailey, especially when Smith had been ruled out, should have been brought in as captain IMO.

It's bizarre because nothing White said was particularly ground-breaking or controversial. It was really just an objective statement of the facts.

If Hohns didn't like what he said then he shouldn't have used the exact selection policies that he's complaining about White saying he used.

Wonder if it will take another world tournament debacle for Australia to finally realize what India realized after the 2007.. You dont let Greg Chappell anywhere near the management of the senior team.

Maybe Smith doesn't want Maxwell in the set up,sure his bowling figures went badly after the world cup,blow outs and not many wickets.Best he has done was bowling for Yorkies in T20 and one dayers.
