Xavier Crone must be a spinner. No other discipline would produce a name like that, surely.

Looks like five bowlers again with Solway likely to carry the drinks. Batting is unproven tstl, save Moises and Hughes.

South Australia have recalled Ferguson. Not optimistic at all on the batting, Haze is one of the best there is and Copeland always takes plenty of poles against us.

Really need your typical C00per H4X innings

Vics go from roads to Hobart and reduced to 4-37. Wish Pattinson was playing on this pitch.

Cricinfo has Doran as Tas keeper. Has Wade given up the gloves for good now? Where's Paine?

CA told Tassie to rest Paine.

And yeah Wade officially gave up the gloves last season because of the whole "runs at 6 don't count" thing. He figured it was too much to bat four and keep. Fair enough IMO.

I'll be a bit less sceptical of Maddinson if he can score runs here. Between all the broken arms and concussions and so many of his runs coming in games attended by the Victorian Minster for Roads and Ports I'm not reading that much into his performances the past season and a half yet, but this is a challenging situation against a decent pace attack.

>inb4 he's stranded on 25* and we learn nothing either way

Maddinson and Labuschagne closing in on the elusive FC 40.00 average.

Labuschagne scoring 113 (or 73*) will do it. Maddinson needs a few more (209 or 169*), especially given the Hobart pitch this game and he misses the next shield round to play the 3-day A game.

It would be nice if our test batsmen actually averaged 50+ in FC, but 40+ is a start.

Meredith is the fella who bowls genuine gas from Tassie isn't he? Cranks it up towards 150 on occasion?
