yeah there’s only points for the first 100 overs (0.01 points per run and 0.1 points per wicket), they’d reached 100 overs before tea yesterday aka before handscomb and harris started bowling and before patto bowled off-spin to try and get a declaration out of them. so banging on about first innings points is irrelevant here

While I don't like that they apparently "whinged" about it, I don't think the Victorians are completely out of line by being disappointed that SA kept batting on. Fact remains that the Vics did declare, and batted very aggressively for the declaration.

Yeah, as though the opposition owe you anything ffs. SA will be stoked to get out of an away game in Victoria with a draw. Why would they give the home side the best shot at an outright win? Makes no sense. It’s round one, not as though both sides need an outright to make the final.

Under the old FIP rule, what would've happened if the match had finished before both sides had completed their first innings and the side batting second was behind the team batting first?

Obviously irrelevant in this case, but given how flat the wicket is it does make me think....

Hasn't he played a bunch of international cricket for the Netherlands? You aren't allowed to just say you want to play for Australia again if you're suddenly good enough right
