I'll raise you Richard Chee Quee... the yellow Bertus.
He played his last nsw game in early '98, I watched my first game in late '98.

Sounds like he was quite an interesting player though, going by his cricinfo profile.

I see he got his only list a ton in a mercantile mutual cup final and only fc ton against a touring windies outfit in '96 possibly featuring all of Ambrose/Walsh/Bishop

Indeed it did. His List A average of basically 40 is very impressive for that period too. Possibly the kind of player who could have been a handy T20 merchant if born 15 years later

Cricket Australia on twitter put this up the other day.

Ahh yes, the good old days when in the eastern states you'd miss the opening hour of a domestic one-day final because Channel 9 were still showing the 'Sunday' program. Also reminds me of how you always hoped West Australia didn't get to host the final because Channel 9 wouldn't show the second innings and if you're lucky you'd get highlights at midnight.

Australia schedule 5 T20i's to play a month from now before the BBL, so I guess the Marsh Cup will be used to determine T20 form

In that case, it should also determine test spots with Burns 54* at #5 giving him a lock on being the next Test opener at the Gabba.

Top team performance by Queensland yesterday. No one player really stood out with 4 half centuries and no bowler taking more than two wickets, but an impressive team performance.

Decent turnout as well. Not quite as good as the unofficial ODI against NZ, but the stands were pretty full.

Confused me as a kid having Dion Nash and Don Nash both around concurrently

IIRC Don Nash may have gone to the Cameron Gannon school of fast bowling if you know what I mean. Hit a big ball too.
Haven't seen in a while, but my memory of Nash is that his action was certainly pretty unco, but not really suspicious. Don't quote me on that though.

Certainly could give it a whack though, held the record for the fastest domestic one day 50 for a good ten years
