Hope this is just some sort of cautious workload management and not something more serious.

That reminds me, is that **** Mick Lewis still the Vic bowling coach?

I think if he played for any other country, he would probably bat four and open the bowling.

They'd have been all out for 12 if Victoria had simply persisted with the quicks. That, and the people would be entertained, not having to endure this dirge.

Cricket will always be more entertaining and the batting side always enduring more pressure under quick bowling than spinners. It's a simple fact.

If I had been living under a rock without seeing any cricket in 10 years, and I was asked to pick which of the Victorian spinners just played for Australia, I would probably say it would have been Matt Short

Matthew Wade might be the hero Australia despises, yet needs. The cricketing Bill Shorten.

There it is. One of Australia's most popular, friendliest, approachable cricketers brings up his ton.

Never should have left Vic. Can't even keep for Tas when Paine is playing. Would have been part of a very strong team at Vic too, having him instead of Gotch as keeper.

Plus wouldn't have had to spend as much time in Tasmania.

This would have to be getting pretty worrying for Victoria. Lead up to 275 now and building. Pitch still looks good, but it's a tricky last day chase.

Edit: all out now. Be a tricky little session tonight.

All over in Canberra. Lyon 5 fer, Haze 4.

Meanwhile, Wil Bosito no doubt catching JL's eye with 45* vs SA.
Look Burgey, Bosisto knows how to bat time and he clearly forms a strong partnership with Shaun Marsh. It's not even a question - he clearly should be batting #5 come the First Test.
