Langer has obviously gotten into Renshaw's head with last season and then the noir enough time in the middle. Now he's constantly on trial.

Gonna be interesting to see who's picked. Hard to justify Renshaw at this point alas, ditto Maxwell. Handscomb probably needs another score. Burns probably comes down to how he does in this innings.

As much as it's a dodgy selection given his lack of Shield form before this season Doolan might well get in because he's one of the few that actually scored runs when opportunities were there. And there are basically no other batsmen who are scoring consistent runs right now and have good records from the last couple of seasons.

And I think the Marshes still have the inside running for two of the middle order slots given they at least scored runs at Shield level when asked. Head is probably 50/50 (scored runs here but failed in the ODI's) whereas I doubt Labuschagne has done enough.

Surely if Renshaw doesn't get picked it should be Burns that gets the nod ahead of him. He's been in great form in the last couple of seasons, he's made runs this season and he's got test match experience. It'd be absurd to pick someone who hasn't already got test match experience at this point. You hardly want to be debuting anyone when we're already playing Finch (2 tests) and probably M Marsh as well.

Honestly the only changes I really want to see are too drop Labaschagne, bring in Burns or Renshaw, drop Finch to 4 and S Marsh to 5 and M Marsh to 6. Khawaja and head can slot nicely back to opener and 3.

It does indeed appear that the Cartwright bowled meme is dead. Tis a shame, it was fun.

Good to see Worrall rip the big inswinger through MMarsh's defenses though.

It's PEWS' fault really, we were all so positive and hopeful in the bowledpool but his negativity jinxed the whole thing. It's quite appalling really.

I liked that Kelly got a 5fer today at least, hope he can get through this season without another braining or injury.
