Important to note that in a tournament where tails starting at 7 and specialist bowlers was the norm, the JLT cup was won by the team that played 7 specialist batsman and made up the 5th bowler with batting all-rounders and part time spinners.

I understand the logic behind stacking the side with 5 specialist bowlers but it is significantly inferior team balance than having batting to 7 IMO. The extra batsman or 2 adds more than 10 overs of Maxwell/Short instead of Boland will cost you.

Arjun Nair out of the picture I'm guessing. Will need to come back as a specialist bat. I never rated his "bowling" that much anyway tbh.

He's playing for Fairfield this week against Parra.

Interesting* they picked Sangha. Weird how you can get fast-tracked. Jack Edwards was always going to play after his JLT heroics, but the bloke has a first grade average of 12.

The people demand Bertus.

*Ridiculous.

No wait that was posted 31 July. Stupid cricket.com.au recommending me that post after reading the article about Wildermuth coming back.

I thought it was current. Carry on.

I don’t think so. He was in the Sixers development side last year or the season before. Copperfield was with the Thunder but I don’t think he got a contract this season (after taking 40 plus wickets and making a first grade ton, why would you?)

Dempsey would be a good random pick up for one of the Sydney franchises as a back up player. Bowls handy meds and absolutely brutalises the ball.

Wow. Edwards did average only 14.71 last year across 8 innings. Didnt think it was that poor when comms mentioned he hadnt scored a first class ton
