Anyone else find it odd Peter Forrest is still playing all of Qld's Futures League matches, given his age? I can understand them getting Shield regulars a hit before the next round of matches or when they're coming back from injury, but it seems odd he's a fixture in their line up.
The whole point of future league is to have the young guns coming through play alongside experienced grade/state players. If you're not going to pick guys like Peter Forrest (assuming they're good enough) then what's the point?

He's basically the only experienced back-up bat in QLD anyway, so it's all juicy.

did he get given a big contract by qld after he forced Ricky Ponting into ODI retirement?

South Australia have started off in their usual manner. I'm really not sure about Dalton. Siddle getting quite a lot of swing in his first over, Tremain not so much.

Funny watching the first couple of matches with the Dukes ball as the bowlers struggle with something that actually moves in the air. Bell getting some nice swing while Siddle seems to be attempting to swing the ball away from the leftie, which I don't recall him doing much before. And Bird has immediately gone around the wicket for some reason. Also funny how it seems to inspire some bowlers to immediately pitch the ball up rather than bowling back of a length. I think CA could learn something there.

Rainbird seems to have modelled his hair and facial hair after Jake Lehmann. Tasmania have modelled their catching after Alastair Cook's during the English summer. Really not sure why Rainbird is bowling so wide on the crease. He's minimising the movement.

Bird getting plenty of seam movement against Pfeffer who looks iffy at short of a length stuff at the body.

Bloke has a much longer run-up than I thought.

Another half century to Renshaw. Let's hope he can turn it into a big hundred and put some pressure on Bancroft's spot.

Well at least Joof doesn't stand a chance at hell in getting his latest counter attacking ton.

Also to add to Nic Maddinson's skyrocketing career, he's now 12th man in place of Nick Larkin.

How the mighty continue to rise.

Oh well. There goes that idea.
Nice one.

Part of me feels sorry for him, the other part finds it quite funny.

FMD NSW learn nothing. Look how long the tail is. Copes at seven and Sandhu at eight.

Nice to see Stobo get a run, and Edwards gets a dayboo as well. Having taken 7 wickets in first grade this year from five matches, someone thinks he deserves it.
