Yesss! Bertus with a ton from 147 balls. WAG. As good a bloke as you could meet.

Think I'm officially a Darcy Short fan. The ton today was great and saw a couple of his T20 knocks last year too, one of those guys who slaps them so hard you feel like your safety is in danger if you're any closer than fine leg. Has every shot too, no flourish just clean, neat hitting.

If only the Territory had a Shield side, he and Weatherald opening would be carnage.

Any chance of Larkin in the Shield line up?
1 thing for sure Abbott won't be the no 7 batsmen,he averaged around 2 for the JLT series.
Unless they go for Copeland at no 7.Altho Copeland only taken 1 peg so far in this match.
Or Starc or Cummins at 7 for the first Shield match.
I guess even Dougie at 7,he did get 30 in the last match.

It being nsw, you can safely assume they’ll play four specialist batsmen max, and the rest bowlers. Copes will keep

Does Henriques prefer not to bowl?
If so why call him an allrounder?
And why are we considering him as a possible no 6 if he does not bowl?

We shouldn't pick a no. 6 on whether or not they bowl anyway. No.6 should be the next best batsman, whether it's Maxwell, Cartwright, Ferguson, Marsh 1 or 2, Henriques etc.

If they can bowl that's a bonus

As far as the NSW selectors are concerned Henriques is a very important bowler -- but only when he's injured.

So if he's injured he must be replaced by a bowler, but if he's playing he needn't bother bowling himself.

Jakey Lehmann dropped for Travis Head to come in, and Alex Carey still opening the batting with Head down the order. Very interesting.

Yep, pretty annoying that Ross makes the team and Lehmann does not.

Sutherland a little unlucky to be benched - looked very good last match.

Wow that was a one sided affair. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of blokes (except NSW).

Feels weird that the team that lost to the CA XI is making the final. I can't see them winning but SA have made a great comeback after a terrible start.

NSW futures side lost 2 Canberra/NSW side.
Mark Higgs bemoans the lack of Canberra local players in it.
But impressive showing by the NSW 2nds,with not many names in it.

The Henriques thing is a dilemma, means you have to pick an extra bowler,as he refuses to bowl himself.
Reminds me of Michael Bevan picked for Australia as a chinamen bowler, but would not bowl himself for the Blues side, but expected to be picked as a batsmen who could bowl chinaman. But could not bat in tests, and bowling was what got him the gig.

NSWMetro lost first innings. Second innings made interesting by a pretty generous declaration by ACT on the last arvo which NSW metro tried to chase down. They were on track as well at one point but lost 6/20 odd and played out a draw. Larkin with a ton in each dig for ACT, Bertus got an unbeaten ton first dig for metro and 30 odd not out second dig. Not many highlights for the bowlers. Nair continuing with his consistent ability to disappoint at every opportunity.
