If SOK is out again, I would go with Chirs Green at 7, with Sommerville replacing Can Do

so
Green
Copeland
Abbott
Sommerville
Dougeh

brockley

International Captain
Nair 9 for in the Futures game, got a 100 against either Pakistan or NZ in UAE opening,so doing it with both, something Chris Green has struggled to do,at least with the ball.

Midwinter

State Captain
"Fingers" Handscomb got a ton in the second innings for the Vics

But the real news is that it took Maxwell 109 deliveries to make 63. Was he crook or somethin' ?

good to see bancroft making runs, personally think he's a better long term option to open the batting than boourns

Mirin' his S/R actually, pity he got it above 40.

Sort of agonizing to say but I'd much prefer him in Sri Lanka myself, I don't really have much confidence in Burns' method of dealing with spin. Bancroft obviously is a raw product but he looks the type who would learn a hell of a lot from early exposure and wouldn't be fazed by early road bumps.

I don't have much confidence in Burns to do anything long term. Just seems like the kind of guy who might have an in form patch and be acceptable, but then will go out of form and be absolutely useless.

Midwinter

State Captain
Good win by the Vics, two declarations, 8 wickets for Boland ,a ton for the coming man Handscomb,Ahmed bagged another 5, good opening stands by Quiney and Dean and Maxwell heloed make the game with his run a ball 79 in the first innings.

and the Duke and Patto weren't playing !

:)

I wouldn't be opposed to Nair playing in front of Green, but I feel like they probably won't even have Nair in consideration yet, similar to Doran. I could see them going with Copeland at 7 and picking another bowler but I probably wouldn't do that

KPat!!

It's been a solid season so far for him, but needed this. Bring a few more home son.

oh that reminds me

Who you drop with the bat I dunno pretty sad all of them, gotta re jig the side.
i dunno either, because Larkin's probably gonna get dropped when Cowan's fit, and that kinda sucks because I want to see Larkin get another game. But Hughes has obviously done well in this game. Patterson is doing solid this season, Mad Dog might be injured but presumably he's that badly hurt, Big Ben is Big Ben, and it's probably a classic NSW situation where they won't drop him this season, and then won't give him a contract next season. So I think we'll just stay put for the rest of the season

QLD have been terrific this year. I really thought the XI we were fielding was shambolic and it doesn't look good on paper, but the team has exceeded expectations ten-fold.

Renshaw, Heazlett, Hemphrey etc. were all no-names who have taken the step up and performed.

Shield bowling attacks have been looking a bit weaker this season though IMO, probably due to all the injuries

Outstanding batch of youngsters this year. Really terrific to see young guys show something straight away. Hopefully no second season syndrome for them. Bout time someone other than NSW produced some quality. Probably the influence of Bluebagger Jaques.

Agree on both points. You know Boland being picked in the Australian squad is looking more of a sane decision each Shield game. He really impresses me and probably cops too much heat.

Once again, you have to hand it to the SACA stream, 90% of the coverage I watched this round was that game.
