I think Queensland well do well to get to 150 today when they bat... very overcast, bit tough on batsmen today.

i'm not really sure how McDermott took 6 and Harris 0, but w/ever

not sure with broad. he had a typically **** season but i mean Kemp? It's a risk if they have dumped him. don't mind it tho

I'm glad they're giving someone else a go. Broad has had plenty of opportunities.

Edit:

Kemp also takes a bit of heat off Lynn...

Yep well Bird bowling at 130, sorry buddy no international career for you.
I'm not watching the coverage; however Bird generally operates in the 134-138 region. Similar pace to Philander and he goes alright at the top level.

Been probably on average so far around 130-132 I'd say. Personally I couldn't care less if he bowls at 130, but I don't get the impression the selectors think the same with regards to pace. As you said Philander is a perfect example of why it doesn't mean much at all as long as you are doing the other things right.

Gotta feel for Butterworth too. He def should have been given a go in tests by now imo...and the funny thing is he isn't even that slow (or at least he has the potential to step it up). Most of his deliveries so far have been mid to high 130's....edit: pace def dropped now though, as has Bird's.

Bird's generally a bit quicker than Butterworth. Both are capable of bowling mid to high 130s if they really strain for pace but neither usually operate in that area; Butterworth usually bowls high 120s and Bird is usually in the low 130s range.

Interestingly enough, on Bird's pace, he wasn't really quite this quick when he played grade cricket in Sydney (or at least I didn't think he was); he was closer to Copeland's pace. Adding a yard seems to really propelled his career.

Hmm I dunno, I've seen Butterworth bowl a fair bit and I would say he is usually in the 130's. I can't comment on Bird though, this is the first time I've seen him bowl. Today though at least, Butterworth has been the quicker one, but on the whole both have been very similar.

Can't say I've been that impressed with Bird yet either. Looks just like another very competent, quite reliable McDermott class bowler to me. Doesn't seem to have much of an x factor, but I'll reserve my judgement until I've seen more...

Burns looks like he has something about him though.
