Beer definitely the worst of the lot IMO. The Doherty experiment was at least based on some reasoning (KP getting out to left armers). When the Doherty experiment failed it should have been back to Hauritz, who blew everyone away with his domestic performance with bat and ball last year.

In other news, the Rimmington and Magoffin swap seems to have paid off somewhat for both sides hasn't it?

Oh I'm not defending Hilditch in the least - he was awful and rightly got the sack. All I'm saying is that there was a small amount of logic used in the Doherty pick. None whatsoever was used in the Beer pick (except that Warne tweeted an off-the-cuff remark about him).

After the early losses, Hopes and Reardon look well set. The Victorian bowling depth is quite frankly not very good. Bolland does not belong at this level, and Herrick continues to bowl too short.

Nah, White was much worse. To his credit, Doherty had enjoyed a good year in FC cricket before his recall. He just still wasn't good enough, that's all.

Fantastic game tonight. Both teams had opportunities to cruise towards victory. McDonald ended up being the difference. McDonald didn't do much different tonight, however the Queensland batsman really went after his length deliveries with minimal success.
