Surely for the BigBash next season there'll be something done to allow replacements for players who get injured. I think every team has one player on their roaster who won't play a game because the signings get done in June......

Seemed pretty good from what I saw. No obvious problems. Did get caught out a couple of times falling over early on but the LBW's weren't given...but you know compared to Hughes and Smith he's frickin Victor Trumper

He didn't seem to have great footwork outside off to me but it wasn't to Hughes-like extents or anything. Favoured the front foot and the off side early in his innings.

The hierarchies at the states are all pretty nervous about what's going on with the Big Bash, and I'm sure that NSW wouldn't take lightly to one of the biggest names they have walking over to help out WA's bank balance.

can confirm the call to remove him as captain happened before he signed with perth. I would have thought he was out of contract with NSW - what with him not being contracted for NSW for a long time - so if he was really pissed he could have gone to WA then and there. No-one really cared too much at the time, and we still thought he was captain. I just think he wanted to go back to WA for Xmas. On a related, G. Bailey is tassie born and raised isn't he?

Yeah George Bailey is a proper Tasmanian. So is Butters and neither of them will be playing for the Hurricanes.

EDIT: I think I remember hearing something about Bailey's girlfriend living in Melbourne actually.

Don't think Butterworth would have been offered a contract tbh. I don't think he ever played for Tassie in the BigBash? Would have thought if Jaques enjoys it down there he might consider moving there next season. obv depending on how his season goes for NSW tho

Butterworth might get to be captain the team depending on how Warner goes actually.
