I know, he was a 55+ averaging Test batsmanBy his own admission, Hodge was not a Test pioneer tho.
Coleman and Doric are the only specialist quicks in their squad, and they've also got allrounders Christian, Stoinis and Ian Holland. So.. yeah, not a lot going for them there. I wouldn't be surprised to see Beer opening the bowling if he plays.Who will open the bowling for Victoria?
Yeah Beer opening could happen. I've never seen either of those two quicks bowl, so hard for me to put Vics as favourites. What happened to Reed, I thought he had some potential.Coleman and Doric are the only specialist quicks in their squad, and they've also got allrounders Christian, Stoinis and Ian Holland. So.. yeah, not a lot going for them there. I wouldn't be surprised to see Beer opening the bowling if he plays.
Think QLD ought to be further down, even just above CA I dare say.Looking at the full squads I think WA should be the favourites as they appear to be strong in all facets. Victoria's batting is good, but quick bowling appears weak, while NSW look good as always but are probably that one star player short. If Haze or Starc come into the team towards the end of the tournament, that could be enough to move ahead of WA, but for now:
Western Australia
New South Wales
Victoria
Queensland
Tasmania
South Australia

Yep, the batting is very good, easily the best in the comp on paper.Reed injured.
Victoria bat deep tho.
Victoria play 2 games at the WACA and 3 at NSO, one of the quicks will have to have a big tournament.Slow pitches would help vic, given all their quicks are injured or with the ODI side.
They've got 3 quality spinners and a few decent slower-bally medium-pacers as well, and as Brockley said, they'll bat deep. The lack of quicks definitely goes against them, and I can seem them struggling to restrict sides at North Sydney.
Oh yeah Lynn is injured, Tassie can move up to 4th.Think QLD ought to be further down, even just above CA I dare say.
Bowling stocks look non-threatening, although I dearly hope Swep doesn't get utterly tossed around like a Thai prostitute.
Batting might be even more stagnate than last year, Burns struggles awfully with his SR in short formats and Renshaw prides himself on his anti-aggression. Reardon, Labuschagne and Floros isn't a middle order which inspires much consistency either, they'll struggle not to plod along if early wickets fall.
I know I shill him a lot but they will really miss Heazlett's attacking gameplay this tournament, looked a class apart for most of the A series.
like, literally the best 20 quicks in the country are all injuredI feel like there is only about 5 good pace bowlers named to play in this tournament.
john hastings says nolike, literally the best 20 quicks in the country are all injured
it's insane
Look, if you're not getting the joke, back away champ.I know, he was a 55+ averaging Test batsman
