Has the "all powerful" Aussie Cricket team peaked too soon ? Are the recent losses just a temporary blip on there merry way to the inevitable 3rd consecutive World cup glory ? Or is this the beginning of their decline ?

Proving that having a high post count is a priority of yours.

Perhaps grabbing the old rifle and shooting things would give you a nice break from CW :p
Nah, if you look at most of my posts, they do tend to be more than one line, and most of them are edited.

And that rifle is an antique, not 'old'. Please don't demean it. :p The 1903 Springfield has won many wars.

Aussies some how always manage to get back into nick and just beat everyone! :@

But, maybe the decline of the aussies may allow other teams to get into the frame! I actually this that this year's WC will be one of the most competitive one in a long time...hope india win....(daydreams usually dont *** true though 8-) )

:lol::laugh::lol::laugh::lol: 2 threads within a couple of hours!

I'll repeat what I said there: the loss of McGrath and Gilchrist will almost inevitably have some effect but, if Gilchrist sees some sense and retires after the Cup they'll still have...
Hussey, Ponting, Symonds, Clarke, Haddin (probably) and Bracken. Then you've got the possibles like Hilfenhaus, Johnson and Tait. Not to even mention Mark Cosgrove, who if he can get a grip on his diet and training seems for all intents and purposes a serious prospect.

Less convinced about the likes of Watson and White, mind. And even Hodge - a la Lehmann can't see him lasting to 2011.

I think Australia will still beat everyone in test matches for the time being untill England mature a bit. However i don't see them being as much of a force in ODIs anymore.

i think they may struggle in tests as well! Its all abt skill; and if aussies are in decline, then so is their skill factor TBH...if u know wat i mean!

So Australia have lost a few ODIs in a row. I believe they can always be vulnerable to any team that plays well on their day and once the younger ones build confidence and play well I believe that Australia will become/stay a dominant force for a few years to come with a lean patch in between maybe.

I say on a downer because of players like warne and mgrath retiring but if they bring young good players than they'r on the up.

Ha, typical... First time they have a bit of a bad run, its all doom and gloom. Yes, they are losing key players, but they still have Ponting, Hussey, and the other sideshows who can be the worlds best
