Pretty decent bowling depth there. Kasper, Johnson, Bichel, Noffke, Hopes, Watson and Symonds. On another note, as a proud qlder i've always thought we;d be in the top 2 nations if we split from the rest of aust. This team would do well:
1. m.hayden
2. j.maher
3. m.love
4. s.watson
5. a.symonds
6. j.hopes
7. a.nofke
8. c.hartley
9. a.bichel
10. m.johnson
11. m.kasprovicz
yeah. I think they'd be easily in the top 2 nations for odi's with all those allrounders and generally better one day players.Pretty decent bowling depth there. Kasper, Johnson, Bichel, Noffke, Hopes, Watson and Symonds.
WE don't have two stand out openers and we have middle order depth.Katich opening? When he could easily be batting three?
It's not like he has no experience opening. But why waste your best middle-order bat by making him open?
I do not want DiVenuto in an Australia A lineup.Isn't it? When's he ever opened for WA or NSW (other than the occasional fill-in role) in Sheffield Shied \ Pura Cup? Never mind Australia A?
Katich doesn't bowl much anymore due to the risk of back injuries. Used to hurt his back bowling ATT apparently.1. C Rogers
2. M Di Venuto
3. S Katich*
4. B Hodge
5. D Hussey
6. S Watson
7. B Haddin+
8. A Noffke
9. N Bracken
10. S Tait
11. B Hilfenhaus
12th. S MacGill.
Katich is an underrated bowler. He and Hussey would do some spinning with the old ball.
I did not know that. It's sad because he was very handy indeed as a spin bowler. Moreso than SymondsKatich doesn't bowl much anymore due to the risk of back injuries. Used to hurt his back bowling ATT apparently.
