AUS current Xi v Past peak XI (home soil bias)

Who would win? How close would it be?

Both teams are very dominant in their respective era with all time great batsmen and great bowlers.

CXI = current XI
PXI = Past XI

2pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie.

1. DAVID WARNER V MATT HAYDEN - hayden easily here. +2 PXI. Although warner isnt terrible, mid 40s average.
2. JUSTIN LANGER V USMAN KHAWAJA- Both average in the mid 40s. Khawaja average slightly better, Langer the longer career so Tie. +3PXI, +1 CXI
3. RICKY PONTING V MARNUS LABUSCHAGNE- This is very close actually. Gotta go with a Tie on Marnus's current form. Both are simply incredible batsmen though. Ponting has played for longer periods and is more tested overseas, but i'd put this as a tie as Marnus is still improving. +4PXI, +2 CXI
4. STEVEN SMITH V STEVEN WAUGH - Battle of the Stevens in the middle order- Smith easily, he out averages Waugh by +10. +4PXI, +4CXI
5. TRAVIS HEAD V MICHAEL HUSSEY - mr cricket here for sure who averages over 50. +6PXI, +4CXI
6. CAMERON GREEN V DAMIEN MARTYN- both can bowl medium pace, the elegant martyn easily- for batting. Green on the bowling for sure. Overall its a tie in terms of value
+7PXI, +5CXI

***

7. ADAM GILCHRIST V ALEX CAREY- GILLY by a country mile- gilly one of the best attacking batsmen ever in modern cricket. +9PXI, +5CXI
8. BRETT LEE V MITCHELL STARC- both bowlers who bowl fast and can bat a bit. Starc easily - way better bowling average and can hoop the ball with control, and is a left armer which the past Australian team lacked. +9PXI, +7CXI
9. SHANE WARNE V NATHAN LYON- this is probably the most mismatched of the lot- the late Shane warne easily here, he's like two bowlers, the most complete bowler ever, but Lyon is a lot more crafty now and atleast holds his own. +11PXI, +7CXI
10. JASON GILLESPIE V SCOTT BOLAND - Gee, boland's incredible at the moment. Gillespie consistent throughout his career. Boland at the moment. +11PXI, +9CXI
11. GLENN MCGRATH V PAT CUMMINS- Both are ridiculous one in gen talents. Both New south welshman, country boys, both tall right arm seam bowlers , with very accurate lengths and unplayable for the most part.

Cummins has been referred to as the GOAT. Both average around 21.5. Cummins slightly better strike rate. Gotta give it a TIE +12PXI, +10CXI

Total - Past XI beats C XI due to the Warne & Gilchrist X factors, by 2 points 12-10.

This better be some serious trolling. The current Aus team has lost 3 consecutive series to India. It hasn't won in England ever. Dominant?No.

Now the Waugh team is legendary and was truly a dominant team and would've smoked this current team no questions asked. Playing in Australia I'd say 3-1 to the Waugh team with maybe a draw.

India won vs this very team and India were without first choice players for much of the contest. And, India's fielding was atrocious. Whatever advantages, the current team has because of Smith, is more than made up by Gilchrist and much better openers. The pace is about even but spin? Lol not close. And Waugh's Australia, are an atg fielding team. So any chances they create (like Manus) will likely get gobbled up.

This can't be a serious question.

I don't get the agenda here either. If you think these guys aren't all that then why would you call Ponting vs ****ing Marnus a tie. Calling Smith a FTB is patently nonsense too. Like where are you going with this?
