Mmmm, looking shaky on a few of these. Johnson not badly placed to be leading wicket taker, assuming he's not dropped. (That sentence should make no sense, but that's where we find ourselves). Still has time to become player of the series as well, but it will be a massive surprise from here.Result: Aus 2-1
Player of the series: Johnson
Top Run Scorer: Clarke
Top Wicket taker: Johnson
Top Eng runscorer: Strauss
Top Eng wicket taker: Anderson, just from Swann
Surprise Packet: Siddle
Miscellaneous Event: Johnson to sideline KP with broken arm/ribs
Dropped Player: Matt Prior

WRONGSeries Result: Aus 4-0
Top Eng Runscorer: Pietersen
Top Aus Runscorer: Hughes

Top Aus Wicket-taker:Johnson
Player of the Series: Johnson
Surprise Packet: Swann
Dropped Player(s): Monty
Miscellaneous Event: Hughes to continue averaging above 60 by the end of the series.
Aren't we all.Miscellaneous Event: Australia win a tense Third Test by one wicket thanks to an unbeaten Mike Hussey century in which he is dropped eleven times. The Fourth Test is abandoned after Richard digs up the pitch and burns his First Chance Average manifesto into the grass. He is subsequently thrown off the Lord's balcony but survives after being caught by Geoffrey Boycott's grandmother. Looking forward to it
Highly possibleSeries Result: 2-1 England
Top Eng Runscorer: Strauss
Top Aus Runscorer: Katich
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Anderson
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Johnson
Player of the Series: Anderson
Surprise Packet: Broad (I won't be surprised myself though)
Dropped Player(s): Lee
Miscellaneous Event: CW will run slowly throughout the series because of the amount of murray mint pics posted by Burgey
Katich not looking like a good bet.Series Result: England 2-1
Top Eng Runscorer: Strauss
Top Aus Runscorer: Johnson
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Broad
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Katich
Player of the Series: Broad
Surprise Packet: Collingwood
Dropped Player(s): Clark.
Miscellaneous Event: Watson to score first hundred.
Clarke calls looking good. The rest pretty ordinary.Series Result: Aus 2-1
Top Eng Runscorer: Bopara
Top Aus Runscorer: Clarke
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Anderson
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Johnson
Player of the Series: Clarke
Surprise Packet: Anderson (for general Australians who haven't seen him since 06/07)
Dropped Player(s): Hauritz
Miscellaneous Event: England will pass 500 twice.
Changing this to Clarke, looks far and away the best player on tour so far.
Thought Clark would play, so that's obviously stuffed that one. I'd go with Hilfenhaus if I'd known who'd play, never fancy touring raw pacemen to do particularly well - it's more the FM types that prosper. Broad has been generally ****e, but just couldn't see the other bowlers doing particularly well other than Flintoff who'd probably get injured - and players of the series are more likely to be bowlers anyway. Reasonably happy otherwise.Series Result: England 2-1
Top Eng Runscorer: Strauss
Top Aus Runscorer: Ponting
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Broad
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Clark
Player of the Series: Broad
Surprise Package (Packet? wtf): Strauss
Dropped Player(s): Lee/Siddle
Miscellaneous Event: The Ashes Test thieving Welsh will stage a dire low quality match
Possible but not likely given weather and form atm.Series Result: Aus 3-1
Top Eng Runscorer: Pietersen
Top Aus Runscorer: Clarke
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Anderson
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Johnson
Player of the Series: Clarke
Surprise Packet: Hughes
Dropped Player(s): Cook, Bopara, Prior, Broad, Swann, Sidebottom, Onions, Panesar.
Miscellaneous Event: Anderson takes England's only 5 for in the dead rubber test they win at The Oval, and as he celebrates a packet of mints falls out of his pocket, thereby both explaining this freak event and causing him to be banned for 12 months.
Series Result: Aus 3-1 - NOSeries Result: Aus 3-1
Top Eng Runscorer: Cook
Top Aus Runscorer: Ponting
Top Eng Wicket-taker: Anderson
Top Aus Wicket-taker: Johnson
Player of the Series: Johnson
Surprise Packet: Macdonald (to take plenty of wickets + a couple of good scores)
Dropped Player(s): Swann, Prior, Pannesar, Collingwood, Onions, Lee
Miscellaneous Event: England selectors to panic, chop and change the team and look to pick players from Australian State second XIs
- Still onSeries Result: 2-2 - Still on
Top Eng Runscorer : Strauss - Decent
Top Aus Runscorer : Clarke - As above
Top Eng Wicket-taker : Flintoff - Quite possible
Top Aus Wicket-taker : Siddle - Unlikely, could be dumped for 3rd Test
Player of the Series : Strauss - Again, quite possible
Surprise Packet : Hilfenhaus - Bingo
Dropped Player (s) : Clark/Swann - Naaaaaaahh
Miscellaneous Event : Broad to be hit for 6 sixes in an over by Johnson.
Not looking likely.Series Result: Australian comfortable victory. Weather too unpredictable to go for an exact scoreline.
Not looking good so far, especially as he might miss games, but you never rule him out.Top Eng Runscorer: KP Pietersen
Not yet OOTQ.Top Aus Runscorer: Brad Haddin
Still quite possible.Top Eng Wicket-taker: James Anderson
Still possible, despite it all.Top Aus Wicket-taker: Mitchell Johnson
I don't do this frippery.Player of the Series:
Dunno if he's really surprised anyone yet, but he's gone damn well.Surprise Packet: Brad Haddin
MSP has indeed been picked as a first-choice and discarded, Lee hasn't yet, Onions hasn't yet been dropped but hasn't looked extraordinarily unlikely to either.Dropped Player(s): if MSP, Lee and Onions play any Tests as first-choice (which is possible to near-certain) then I can quite see 'em being dropped. Also find it conceivable though not out-and-out likely that Prior and Cook might go.
None yet.Miscellaneous Event (AKA random wildcard): two cases of on-a-hat-trick with a hat-trick resulting in neither.
Well, we've now had two in the same session... good job I didn't say "no more than two". 'Cos surely there'll be another at some point in the series.Miscellaneous Event (AKA random wildcard): two cases of on-a-hat-trick with a hat-trick resulting in neither.
