Difference with Dravid in 2002 is that he didn't put 12 runs on his average like Kohli or Smith, because it wasn't that abnormal for him to have a series like that. In these two cases, absolutely abnormal. Smith has almost scored 40% his total runs in this series alone.
Batsmen can get series or years like that.

What do you think scoring 4 double centuries in a year did to Clarke's average?

To be honest, you've kind of posted in such a way that making that assessment could be considered accurate. You're trying to imply that the pitches aren't flat and that the bowlers aren't weak when we're seeing batting records be broken left right and centre. He's within his rights to consider you a Kohli cheerleader with a statement such as that.
No Blocky you can't say that mate!!..the guy is an "expert" on flat decks, batting techniques and the abilities of all bowling units apparently.

I think you'll find that, largely, the previous few pages were attacking WW's posts and not him personally. Which is fine because many of his posts in this thread are either a) trolling or b) hilariously misinformed. He's basically refusing to listen to reason, especially when it comes from people saying the Australian attack is actually bowling well. People who were at the ground, no less.

The really funny thing is that he started this thread, ostensibly because he wanted to discuss a question and get some answers. When he got those answers and found they weren't to his liking things got a bit out of hand.

He still managed to chuck in an irrelevant reference to Kraigg Brathwaite though, so at least he's got that to show for his efforts.
Not true!!..it was my same old detractors trying to get me banned by rattling my cage but once again they came up short...that's what it was.

Furthermore someone was saying "Kohli dominated the SA attack" and i merely said Kohli only got one ton in SA...the same as a 22 year old Brathwaite so what makes Kohli's time in SA so special? it's easy to grasp if you just READ posts properly instead of reading what you want to read.

What the hell? all i said was it's ok for you to like Kohli but we disagree on the apparent "improvement" you claim to see...and AGAIN you seem to have the same struggles where comprehension is concerned as that of your buddies on this thread. I never said YOU were a cheerleader i said YOU have cheerleaders liking every comment you make...big difference.
I understand that. The fact that I used the term "cheerleader" doesn't mean that the response was directly addressing the "cheerleader" portion of your comment.

Lots - but Clarke did that in series where there weren't so many run scoring records being broken. Smith won't. If Smith can have two years as good as Clarke's last four have been, then come talk to me.

Counting tonnes made is a purposely dishonest way of discussing the issue here.

Kohli: 119, 96, 46, 11
Brathwaite: 106, 7, 16

It isn't that difficult to notice some differences there.

Do you and WW have some sort of contest where you try to talk about something you know absolutely nothing about? This is a trash post.

Btw, look forward to the strawman argument from you that Smith not scoring 4 hundreds in a series before this= shoeing 0 sign that he ever will.
Mods is this kind of language really acceptable? there's a lot of things i could call this individuals posts but apparently posting with restraint is hard for some posters 8-) .

Yeah it is...especially when you fail to posts the stats from an entire test like you did there with Kraigg!!

Again...NICE TRY.

My apologies:

Kohli: 119, 96, 46, 11
Brathwaite: 34, 20, 106, 7, 16

In which case the difference remains pretty much the same.

You know what, I am going to bet that in the coming years Smith will have 4 years as good as the last 4 years of Clarke.

I'll take that bet, I still think he's a rubbish starter and will knick out early against good bowling attacks.

What's wrong with calling a trash post a trash post? I'm playing the post am I not?
It's disrespectful...so i'd urge you to cut it out. Your mate has been reduced to being some "pretend commentator" because he can't stand the fact that he got banned trying to troll me and looked very silly in the process. Don't go down the same road OS...lets debate the issues and leave the negative stuff alone.

To quote Kanye

"Ooh they so sensitive".

Harmison himself referred to himself as a fruit loop last night on TV, so settle yourself.
Can't believe how this bloke gets to call everyone sensitive ****s when he's the one making a post akin to "woe is me, everyone quotes me out of context and I hope the mods do something."

You've openly admitted that you're not nice to anyone because you don't need to be, but when everyone else gets remotely agitated, you don't like it. You can't have it both ways mate.

Oh spare me the feeble excuse....you got it wrong there, simple.
Ok then, I'm glad to hear that you weren't looking to ignore the comments because you thought I was "rooting" for Kohli. That's a pretty satisfactory outcome as far as I'm concerned.

You quoting me out of context, then trying to claim somehow I'm making "circular logic" posts is a little different to me pointing out how sensitive someone sounds when I point out Harmison was world class on his day, but prone to not being on his day. If you can't see that, I really can't help you.

By the way, I never do the "I hope the mods do something" post - that'd be you, Sledger, ***** etcetera.
