Pedro Delgado
International Debutant
Gerrard is a scouser though

Well, the XI for the first half contained both Kieron Dyer and James Beattie, both of whom will never be seen in an England shirt again, and there were 11 changes at half-time. I don't exactly imagine the first-half XI were overly bothered about exerting themselves, either.chaminda_00 said:Last time i checked you had a full strength side in the first half and they were all international standard and then you brought on the crap players in the 2nd half, when the game was already lost.
That's not a list in order of anything, it's just a list. Lampard's been nothing short of terrible for a good 6 months now, so I doubt anyone would put him in the list of "form players".chaminda_00 said:Personally i would have him behind Lampard, but thats just me.

Robinson didn't make any mistake, he was just extremely unlucky with the condition of the square foot of pitch where the ball was at that point.chaminda_00 said:lol where did that come from.
he made a mistake, not as bad as Kalac but all i was saying that you don't drop a player cus they have one bad game or make one mistake.
Five pages in just over an hour suggests yes, mind you I think its *****.benchmark00 said:ffs, does this topic need a thread?

Well said...dontcloseyoureyes said:It's absolutely obvious that Australia aren't a better side than England. Though, what I think Salmuddin thought he was making this thread about before he dumped acid and went on a trip was that Australia probably play for each other better. As in, they seem to show more passion than the English. Whether they are more passionate is obviously too hard a subject to comment on (no doubt playing football for England is probably every childs dream, so I doubt the Aussie's are more passionate).
But anyway, the main reason for this (I feel) is we've had Guus, who's seen the "Aussie Spirit" in our sports culture and exploited it, because he's a good ****ing manager, whereas Sven, and now McLaren, don't seem to instill a passionate display.
While there's no doubt England are the better side (they have strikers that can finish in front of goal, for one.) I feel Australia are a better group of team-mates, and are probably more willing to throw everything at a game, even if it's a friendly, just because they can.
Oh, such a glorious resultClapo said:.
In a 5 match series IMO it'd be 2-1 england.
Barney Rubble said:at least 7 of them could reasonably be considered world-class by my reckoning (and by that I mean among the best in the world in their position), whereas Australia don't have anyone who comes into that category.
Been through this. It was a friendly, masses of substitutions, Francis Jeffers(1 cap/1 goal) played to prove the point. Negates that argument._TiGeR-ToWn_ said:We beat England last time we played them so therefore we must be better then them. End of argument.

Easy.
I'd also seriously think about putting Hargreaves in there too.
Not it doesnt because the first half was played between the two starting XI and we went in at 2-0. Your 'second' side did better against us.Matteh said:Been through this. It was a friendly, masses of substitutions, Francis Jeffers(1 cap/1 goal) played to prove the point. Negates that argument.
Well they captain Chelsea, integral for Man Utd, and Bayern Munich wouldn't give him up for any sum. Hardly the average players you think they are.Salamuddin said:Owen, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard yes.
Joe Cole possibly.
Terry, Ferdinand, Hargreaves ....if they're world class, then Steve Harmison is th world's best bowler
