Played 8 of my 2nd XI today, with 3 1st XI batsman in an attempt to grab some respectability from what I knew would be a thumping. Wasn't to be as those 3 'premier' batsmen were all bowled out for <20. We made 69 (

No on both counts, I'm afraid.
Opposition are fighting back a bit in the boring middle overs, after a decent opening spell from Pead and Oleary accounted for all but one of their best batsmen. He's still in and is definitely a danger, though. Hopefully one of my spinners can nick him out on a dusty pitch before he gets to the business end of the innings.

Miserly but unpenetrative (as it were) bowling has constricted the runs but still let the opposition get to the death overs with a few wickets in hand. Not keen on chasing anything over 200 with my slightly brittle batting lineup, so fingers crossed for some quick wickets.
