(@cameeel) I hope you're joking when you say that he's 'semi decent' - he's far, far better than anything my academy has ever produced. Presumably he'd have to be a 17yo proficient for you to consider him 'decent'. Fired my YP straight away suffice to say.
I don't think the new academy will benefit rich teams any more than it should - it will benefit teams who invest the most in their academy, which is what it should do. There will still be the chance for teams to randomly get good YPs as so many people on here seem to do.
If they wanted to benefit rich teams there would be no cap on academy investment - next season it will be capped at £20,000 per week, which isn't really much.
I like the fact that the older academy players get more sessions, as it basically gives you the choice between choosing a 17/18yo player who can be trained after being pulled, or a 19/20yo who can't be trained as much, but will be better in the short term so can go straight into the starting XI. At the moment YPs are useless for improving making short-term improvements to my starting XI (unless I get a proficient, which I never have done), so I think I'll much prefer the new system.
Will be playing my 2nd XI (ie. resting Cuss, Gillespie and a few others) against brenoevo's team today, so I'll have a better idea of what my bench strength is like.
