Looks like you're easily through to the next round SP, wouldn't be surprised if you end up the last CW team remaining in the cup.

Match orders locked in for the cup match starting in a few minutes. Badley drafted into the starting XI in place of Begg, relieving allrounder Berry of bowling duties. Since it's a flat pitch I figured 7 batsmen should be enough, and Berry's bowling has been slaughtered in previous matches on flat pitches. Badley's still very much an unproven bowler though, his stats to date are rubbish.

Top four batsmen alternating between aggressive and v. aggressive orders, with Gillete being promoted to no. 5, set to normal to hopefully act as an anchor if we lose early wickets. Rocastle and Barrett to follow, then the bowlers. Two bowlers set to v. defensive, hopefully to keep them under 300 if we bowl first. Gillespie set to attacking as usual though. Going to bat first if we win the toss, though I don't mind either way as I feel we have a better chance chasing for some reason.

Going to be very tough though, they've got a very good top order, and one very good bowler - the rest are fairly average. They're likely to have much better fitness than me as well, which seems to have a big effect on match ratings. Won't mind terribly if we lose as I'd made a conscious decision to concentrate on league rather than cup, but a win would be nice.

EDIT: Lost the toss and bowling first.

Poor Jamee, offering him a pancake of a track. he just can't make use of it..pitty. though good for the team morale...
End of Over 34: 159-8, runrate=4.68, reqrunrate=9.94 (317-2)
Badley 7-0-29-2
Binns* 0 (2 balls)
Sugden 30 (39 balls)

And that's the end of the match. Scaly Piscine CC won by 7 wickets.
Funky Funksters CC 189-10
Scaly Piscine CC 190-3 (36.4 overs)

Packer made 105 off 100 balls. Wickets shared around fairly evenly between the usual 4.

hmm, looks like itll at least be respectable, i've pegged them back to 181-1 after 35 but will still lose comfortably, my spinner has bowled 6-0-17-0

We're getting slaughtered as expected. 79-0 after ten overs and one of their guys has a 50 already. Oddy's bowling absolute tripe and Gillespie's having a shocker, end of his spell now. Double century from Cuss to win it from here. :p

Yeah, okay. I knew I was going to lose this match, but I was kind of hoping my bowlers could at least concede less than 500 or so. Take a wicket already!

EDIT: Woohoo, I've pulled the run rate down from 8.26 to a mere 7.00... We suck.

Incredibly pathetic bowling performance, 370-4, with three of those wickets coming in the last two overs. 8-) I'm curious to see what my opponent's top order rating will be though, I'd be surprised if it isn't at least quality. Not entirely without precedent though - I played a match on a flat pitch early last season in which the opposition scored 366-3, and I ended up losing by 18 runs with 348-3. Meh, as I said, it's double-century time for Cuss or we lose.

And the losing streak moves onto 6!! College Dropouts 104 all out 35overs defeated by Boulevard Bombers 2/106 20overs. The team moral and members confidence are now both pessimistic but the sponsors confidence is estatic. My best batsmen popped in stamina and fielding and one of my bowlers has popped in bowling this week. Is there ne one out there who I might actually have a chance beating if so challenge me.

Well, I got thumped as expected. 370-4 v. 294/10 (47.2), though it was hardly surprising given my opponent's ratings:

Code:
 	[B]The Bosstones Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: remarkable proficient
Middle Order: competent mediocre
Lower Order: woeful abysmal
Seam Bowling: proficient competent
Spin Bowling: respectable useless
Fielding: competent feeble
Just goes to show how much of an effect fitness has on match ratings, I guess. I've noticed a lot of div III sides ending up with much better ratings than div II sides, mainly because the div III sides have had the luxury of TIEing league matches and maxing out their fitness levels, while div II sides have generally had to play on Normal/GFI every match. Meh, enough excuses, we got hammered. Still, first loss of the season and I'm doing well in a fairly tough league.

Not much in the way of performances - all the bowlers were shocking, and none of the batsmen really did well considering the situation. Gillete top-scored with 82 (77) in his first match at no. 5, so he'll stay there for the next match. The match was effectively over when Cuss (42) and Berry (46) failed to convert. Gillespie played a rubbish innings, hitting 42 off 67 despite needing 8 an over - even though he is a destructive batsman set to v. attacking. Barrett on the other hand is a steady batsman set to normal, and managed 45* off 22 at no. 7. The tail was entertainingly inept, but the match was long-lost at that stage.

The one positive from that match was that my opponent's ground was packed so we receive a handy 22k. If my league match sells out we'll get 150k from gate receipts this week. Might not sell out though, as members' confidence dropped two levels to 'joyous'.

Oddy's probably out for the next match, had him opening the bowling but he's been far too expensive of late. Badley will come in again, despite a 1-70 in the last match. Not sure who will open the bowling out of Street/Badley/Berry/Male yet. I'm not reading too much into this match because of the ratings disparity, but it really underscores my need for another bowler. Badley's my main prospect, respectable bowler but abysmal stamina and cons, so I'm investing quite a lot in training for him. That'll take a while though, and I really need a bowler urgently. I'll have around 450-500k in the bank by the next update, so a big purchase is definitely an option. A young bowling allrounder would be preferable.
