I arrive home just in time to see the last two overs of my game against PY. Unfortunately.

Boggles 2/308
Chanderpaul 122 (133), Abdul kadir 98 (102), Moodley 43* (42)
Erasmus 1/59, Fernando 1/47

Magical Ponies 294 (49.2)
Kilkenny 76 (84), Tedstone 59 (52), Canning 39 (54)
Singh 5/49 (9.2), Malik 3/67 (10)

Was looking at a loss from the start of our innings, with Farmer, Griffin and Sutton all gone by the end of the 6th over. And it didn't help when Canning (fair fitness) and Kilkenny (feeble stamina) started slowing down, although Parr played a nice cameo at the end with 37* off 24.

Code:
  	Magical Ponies Boggles
Top Order: competent proficient
Middle Order: mediocre mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: mediocre competent
Spin Bowling: competent competent
Fielding: woeful feeble
MOTM: Singh
Singh a very deserving MOTM, with 5 wickets and 36* off 26 from number 4.

Can anyone explain why my top order, which is normally respectable, has only been competent for the last two weeks? It's the same top order, and if anything it's better, as Kilkenny's receiving a net (but still has sublime fitness). The same goes for my spin attack, which is also usually respectable.

Seems to have payed the Umpire, Altoz..

Code:
 W	Mohan to Garvey
Big appeal for LBW...and given! He dosen't seem to be happy with that decision. A big inside edge.
Code:
Big appeal... yes, he's given him! Lebohang is overjoyed, Martyn doesn't look too happy about it... and yes, looking at the replay, the umpire's made a clanger there, he's missed the ball by a long, long way...

Andy, I think team fitness has something to do with it? Did you GFI a match recently?

Because the same thing's happened to me, and I assumed it was the fair or around fair team fitness.

I haven't GFId for ages, that's the thing. I got resp top order and spin in my last few league games, IIRC, and now that I'm not playing any league games, you'd expect my ratings to go up, if anything, due to better team fitness.

Paddy, if you're going to post the whole thing, please use [c o d e] [/c o d e]. Makes it much easier to read, and takes up less room :)

You shuffled the order about at all?

Not sure why that would affect the spin rating unless Alan is fiddling with the engine already and it's not been made public.

Good game anyway, can't believe I won! You're right about the top order being the key though, once they'd gone it was always going to be tough.

Team fitness actually goes towards Fair, regardless of how high or low it is. If it's higher than fair, or was higher than fair, then it is decreasing. After my GFI, it was Low. It is now Fair.

And that's the end of the match. Sad Decadent XI won by 12 runs.
Sad Decadent XI 317-8
Alternative XI 305-10

Quite happy with that actually since my top order were down pretty early but we rallied together, and then the bowlers got stuck in..

Nope, that's what's annoying about it.

Good game though, thanks for it. Losing Griffin early was a killer blow for me, but Chanderpaul and Abdul kadir just did too much really. At least Tedstone got some runs. By the way, what's Singh like? He played great today.

Welcome to Scaly Piscine CG for the match between Scaly Piscine CC and Jamees 999ers.

We can tell you that Scaly Piscine CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this sunny day.

End of Over 21: 132-0, runrate=6.29
Sugden 1-0-5-0
Packer* 53 (68 balls)
Dillon 75 (59 balls)

Packer being mysteriously crap again in friendlies, should be scoring faster than that.

Lisbie finally teeing off:

Code:
34.6 [B]3[/B] Aldred to Lisbie
Three more on the board as he strokes it through the covers.
34.5 [B]6[/B] Aldred to Lisbie
That ball nearly ended up in the commentary box, six runs.
34.4 [B]b1[/B] Aldred to Packer
The keeper has to get behind them, Devapriya really should be collecting those.
34.3 [B]1[/B] Aldred to Lisbie
They had to run quickly, a direct hit would have got him.
34.2 [B].[/B] Aldred to Lisbie
Slower delivery, stroked out to the off.
34.1 [B]4[/B] Aldred to Lisbie
Poor ball on his legs which is easily glanced away to the square leg boundary for four.

While the batsmen crossed for the single it looked like the umpire was having a word with Ahmed about scuffing up the line on his follow-through. We've seen him do that before...
I wonder if the Zebras will come out after the innings break

I was searching the transfer market at the time so I noticed it pretty much when it happened.

Anyway, about to win my friendly against the #2 team in the SA Provincial Cup (doing an inter-league tournament thing):

End of Over 45: 237-5, runrate=5.27, reqrunrate=12.80 (300-7)
Malik 8-1-36-1
Foster* 125 (119 balls)
Cooper 8 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Bentham lbw b. Malik 20 (FOW: 213/5)

Cuss and Watkins both scored centuries (before a monumental late collapse), and Whitehorne, Watkins and Malik have taken the five wickets to date. Whitehorne somewhat disappointingly only managed 2-35 though, I tend to think he'll get five wickets every match.
