Hi, Quickly before I go home for the weekend, The Gurs secured the V.76 title today, with a comprehensive win over FC Davidofv, but they weren't as convincing as usual, despite PANing instead of their normal GFIing.

FC Davidifv 89 A/O, Manning 23, Mitchell 27, Bewers 7/2/16/4, Bridges M 9.2/2/16/3, Mullins 5/3/4/1, Bent 10/5/19/2.

Cymru Gurgitaters 90/1 13.3, Greening 49* (40), Noon 26 (27), Staveley 17* (12)

Had what is now becoming my standard ratings of: Prof/Comp/Abs - Resp/Strong/Feeb.

I'm currently 36th on the promotion table, climbing four places today. However I still need to make sure of a win next week, as if I were to drop points I'd still slip out of the top 128, and have to face a most unnecessary and inconvenient playoff. But all the same, I can't think of any other words to better describe my emotions about romping The Title, than those of Waqar Younis when I rather ill-advisedly attempted to interview him live on radio, as he came off the field after scoring an unbeaten forty-odd to help Glamorgan Beat Yorkshire to reach the NatWest Cup final.

TV - Waqar, You're at Lord's, how does it feel?
WY - F**king Great!
TV - Um…So It's back to you in the studio!

Sacked all my coaches, apart from Bridges M bowling net, and hired nine fitness coaches. Patel, Noon, Greening, Staveley and Bennett are the first victims in the Fat camp.

Talk Monday, Trev

**** easy game today:

joes army 73-10 (34.3) (Hinshelwood 4-4)
Jamees 999ers 74-0 (12.4) (Hinshelwood 45* (39)

On a TIE :D

Got some new teams in my league, will rest Bardle, Loxley etc for the last game, and switch the batting order around (more than today, with Hinshelwood pinch-hitting, instead of batting 5.)

managed a 22 run win to move up to 3rd and probably avoid a playoff. Webster hit 150* and Abdul Kadir hit 90 to take us to 291-5. Islam took a fifer but was expensive - a late collapse did for them

Need to feel I've got on top of something, so I'm going to set Tuck to bowl plenty of death overs against Badlands. Probably going to lose anyway, so might as well get him up on top of the wickets tally, which currently reads

Tuck (Dynamo) 13 games, 107 overs, 35 wickets @ 11.97 (econ 3.92)
McDonnell (3wide) 13 games, 106 overs, 34 wickets @ 12.29 (econ 3.94)
Donovan (3wide) 13 games, 102 overs, 31 wickets @ 18.45 (econ 5.61)
Bolder (Banagher Knight) 13 games, 109 overs, 29 wickets @ 14.97 (econ 3.98)
Harris (Dynamo) 13 games, 100 overs, 28 wickets @ 14.71 (econ 4.12)

Interestingly Badlands, who top the table, have no one in the top five (but 18yo Kieran Yates has 25 from 9 games, and spinner Riazuudin Sohail has 22 from 13 games with econ of 3.32!)

Islam managed to get past 50 league wickets today

his season so far 107-9-471-52, Ave 9.06, SR 12.62 ER 4.40

Seven 5 wicket hauls in 13 matches is decent going

Next best in my league is Moore whose taken 47@9.49, but then after that the next best is 38.

just checked and Islam is 7th for most wickets and 6th for best strike rate in level 4 England

Your league looks a lot more bowler friendly than mine, highest number of wickets is 40 then 30 in my league - also 4 bats have 1000+ runs as opposed to one in yours. Dillon and Horne both have 24 wickets in my league, but they've not bowled many overs - 75 and 76 overs respectively. Armstrong and Packer both have a chance of getting 1000 runs for the league season, but they'll need to get a century.

Hmm I conceded 303 runs, but Cuss and Wynand chased that down in 41.4 overs for a 10-wicket win despite the cracked pitch. Cuss 149* (128) and Wynand 147* (127). Watkins the only good bowler with 10-1-27-2.

Top three finish is secure after Pebble Street lost yesterday, will come down to the final week. I need to win and to have Pebble Street pull off an unlikely win as well (although they beat NorCricket last time so it's not impossible).

Just noticed this in the rules section:
Code:
Level	1st	2nd	3rd	4th
1	£250,000	£180,000	£125,000	£75,000
2	£180,000	£125,000	£75,000	£50,000
3	£125,000	£75,000	£50,000	£35,000
4	£75,000	£50,000	£35,000	£25,000
5	£50,000	£35,000	£25,000	£20,000
[B]6	£35,000	£25,000	£20,000	£15,000[/B]
I didn't know they were introducing another division... Anyway, that 50,000 can't come soon enough for me, am currently running under 100k, not the best position seeing as I won't be having a home game for three or four weeks.

And now, my YP, no ITS used. Could be due a decent one after getting rubbish the last while..

There's already a div VI in England. They really should increase the prizemoney, there's not enough incentive to do well.

Looking at some of the data on JFW, there doesn't appear to be any significant difference between 5 psychologists and 10. People mentioned 8 weeks per secondary pop for a 17yo with 1 primary + 1 field/WK net using 5 SPs, compared to 7 weeks with 10 SPs. I've been using 6 for as long as I can remember, don't think I'll be changing it any time soon.
